Sooo… Today I had the wonderful experience of getting a pedicure in the middle of the day. I had a class for my job which got out extremely early and happen to be across the street from a nail salon. It was a wonderful blessing to be able to sit for a little while, read a magazine and have someone make my feet pretty. π It’s the little pleasures sometimes. Anyway, I was very amused when the red color that I chose was called “I’m not really a waitress.” That made me laugh to myself, because it might as well have said, “I’m not really a banker.” There are so many days in my job where I feel that ALL I am is a banker. Seeing as being a banker is the solution to the present need for income, I enjoy many aspects of the job.. but there are those days, when I would love to tell everyone around me in a tone just above a whisper, “you know what? I’m not REALLY a banker.” But the important thing is, I’m not. I am more things than that. And sometimes after spending a week’s worth of long days in a job that takes so much energy, it’s really comforting to remind myself that I am…. a wife of a wonderful man who loves the Lord and loves me; I’m the daughter of two wonderful parents; I am an aunt to 10 fabulous kids; I am a sister; I am a friend to some wonderful people; I am a daughter in law; I am a cook who enjoys a challenge and loves feeding people; I am someone who likes to decorate my apartment and loves to entertain; I am a girl who loves to read books from her childhood; I am someone who relishes the time at home when I can pretend if only for a few hours… that I am a housewife; but most of all, I am a child of God– and that gives me more identity than stack of business cards or the nameplate on my desk. Never has red toe-nail polish been so therapeutic for me.
Almost caught up…Some of the things we’ve done!!
Our First Christmas

This Christmas we were able to see Lance’s parents before (they came to visit!) and also to visit my parent’s in Florida for New Years. It was a family and fun-filled weekend and we were so glad to spend a lot of quality time with my nieces and nephews. Please enjoy the photos! π
November…. What happened in November???
Turning Over a New Leaf…
It has recently come to my attention that I am not a good blogger. And when I say, “come to my attention” I mean one of my friends so lovingly told me in a manner of speaking, that I was a horrible blogger. Although I would have to agree with her as she is most likely, the only person who faithfully checks my blog, I do have a bit of defense to offer up. For the last five months I have been working as the Office Manager at Fidelity Bank in Wake Forest. All day long I find
myself face to face with a computer screen. I have these long periods of time where I don’t get up from my desk at all. Trust me, I am having to watch my caloric intake. Regardless of this fact, by the time I get home and am able to actually do what I want, getting on another
computer is not usually high on my priority list. This would have a lot to do with my low level of correspondence as of late. So for those of you out there who are thinking, “That silly Cindy. She got married and now she never emails anymore.” Let me assure you though that may be the case, It is not a Lance-oriented problem as much as it is a Fidelity-Oriented problem. Never the less, I have recently been made aware that I myself, LOVE to read other people’s blogs. I love to see the pictures, the funny stories and anecdotes, the things they are learning, and just normal everyday updates on how they are..etc. I love sharing a piece of your lives! And I’m sure we would all agree that the most frustrating thing in the Blogosphere is to eagerly await a friend’s recent update, only to come face to face with a post you have already read. Alas, I have become my own worst blogging nightmare. Upon looking at my own blog, I cringed to see photos of myself in shorts. Not because I am from Florida and used to dressing like summer in winter, but because the pictures were from Columbus Day. Yikes. I have skipped some major events and major holidays!! SO, in an effort to redeem myself, I will attempt to give a quick recap of the last few months. Hopefully I will be able to uphold what I have deemed my January 30, 2008 resolution: To not be a horrible blogger anymore. This one’s for you: Lindsey Isham. I love ya. π

Wilmington Fun…

My Sweet Husband relentless requested this “blast from the past.”
The Honeymooners have returned…

We enjoyed this beachside grille with its yummy food and amazing ocean breeze. I especially loved the delicious Gazpacho (Chilled Tomato and Cucumber Soup) and Tacos El Pastor (Cubed Seasoned Pork with chopped Pineapple.) We also loved the daily supple of Fresh Guacamole and Salsa and Chips! It’s a good thing we came back after only a week!

We spent alot of time here, enjoying the breeze and reading books! So Relaxing!
